Stable Cider Awards

Last night I attended the Stable Cider Awards in Bournemouth. Myself and Jackie arrived 20mins early so started the night with a cheeky half pint before heading upstairs to be greeting with a complimentary glass of Rapscallion (one on my favourite ciders).

Staff brought out some sourdough stix with dips for us to grab and nibble on while we waited for the event to kick off. Safe to say we enjoyed ours!!

The night was started with Ross, the cider brand ambassador for the stable, who gave us a speech on what ciders there were on offer to taste and what the night was going to involve. With the current cider votes being very close it was in our hands to make the lasting votes count.

With 8 different ciders to taste we started working the room, interacting with the cider makers and working out who we both thought should win.

Here is my low down on voting:

Hunts Andsome Bay 3/8

Pilton Keeved 7/8

Sxollie Golden Delicious 2/8

Sandford Orchard St Louis Hopped 6/8

West Milton Landcombe Rising 4/8

Sheppys 200 1/8

Hallets Draught 5/8

Ashridge Blush 8/8

Sheppys won my vote with the smoothness and its taste!! Slips down nicely with a slight bubble to it, rich apple taste and a treat to the taste buds.

While marking our voting cards we were able to grab pizza from the buffet and listen to the talented Danny Adams. A choice of vegetarian and meat pizzas. I’m glad to see a few of my favourites where on the table!!

The voting complete and counting done, Ross took the stage again to announce the winner.

Massive well done to the Sheppys team!!

I had a fantastic night and looking forward to attending some more Stable events.
