Worth Matraves to Dancing Ledge Loop

Starting at the Worth Matraves Car Park, turn left at the end of the road and walk up pass the houses. Your come to a field on the right (also used and the overflow carpark) Go down the lane and your see a gate to enter the fields. Head through this and across two fields. Be careful not to disturb the cows though!

Follow the signs for Langton Martraves until you come to another fence just before a lane. Your see houses to your right, a few yards yards beyond this there will be another gate on the right hand side to enter another field. Follow the path down to the next field then keep to the left following the higher path towards Dancing Ledge. As you approach the stone walls towards the end of the path before it branches off your notice in the wall infront of you will have a sign, follow the direction for dancing ledge.

Following this path down until you notice another one branching off to the right hand side. Take the right hand side path and follow straight, you should come out opposite dancing ledge.

Head over the stys and have a stop, explore and see what this beautiful place is all about.

The walk back is more picturesque shall we say. Following the signs to seacombe, head back over the sty and follow the path to the left. It is a straight path with no other twists or turn or gates to go through to get the Seacombe.

Have another stop if you like, however I tend to bypass this place to carry onto the next. If you look out to your right side at sea just beyond the corner is Winspit Quary, thats where your heading.

From Seacombe you want to head up the lane and hill behind until the path forks off to the left. Take that left turning and be warned I’m afraid there are a few steps to climb. Once your have conquered them keep following the path along the cliffs keeping the sea to your left. Keep following it until you see some trees infront of you and the path turning to the right. There are a few different paths to pick up here but take the one your happy with and follow it through the trees, you will hopefully use the one I do and have to go down some steps, get ready to jump a few of them if your short like me.

Your now at winspit! This is one of my favourite places along the coast. Go and explore those caves, watch people climb, climb yourself if your and experienced climber or just have a splash in the sea below.

To head back follow the gravel path up the hill. Your come to a part where it forks left and right, go right and over the fields inbetween the houses. This will finished in between some houses at the bottom of Worth Matraves. Walk back up the hill and treat yourself in the Square and Compass!! The Dorset Apple cake is a must.
