BH1 Gin

**Ad Gifted**

I’m so lucky to live somewhere where we have great products made on my doorstep and it’s even better when those products are made from local produce along our Coastline. BH1 Gin is one of those companies and to top it off it’s gin!!

Based in Bournemouth and run by two guys, Lewis and Przemek, both have a lot of experience with hospitality service. They run this small batch company alongside their day to day jobs, so you can imagine how busy life can be for them. Making a gin doesn’t come easy and with so many Gin companies around you have to stand out of the crowd to get noticed, so they had to come up with a unique recipe. That said I think they have done a great job!

BH1 Gin

The original and first gin created by Lewis and Przemek. It’s made using 13 different botanicals and the most unique of them has to be the wild camomile foraged from our very own Dorset coastline.

It’s smooth, an easy drink and great after a long day at the office. I happily enjoy it with a dash of Fever Tree Light Tonic and a sliver of Orange to garnish. For a more fancy service I like to pair it with Fentimans Valencian Orange Tonic Water and a slice of Orange to garnish. I’ve also known to mix this one with Dalston’s Cherryade and I feel it compliments it nicely.

BH1 Gin Wild Strawberry

Using the same recipe as BH1 Gin this limited edition has wild strawberry added into the distillation process. I’m not much of a pink gin fan, some taste a bit to artificial for me so I was slightly sceptical about this one.

On opening the bottle the strawberry smell is insane. If I’m honest I really do not know how these guys are created a gin with the strawberry at the forefront while it not being a liquor. the taste is like summer in a glass. As smooth as the original, but the strawberry’s give it this completely different dimension. I enjoy this one again with Fever Tree Light Tonic on it’s own over ice. If you want something a bit different though I enjoyed mine with fresh mulled mint, lemonade, 50ml service of BH1 Gin Wild Strawberry, top it with ice and served in a highball glass it’s great as an alternative to Pimm’s.

Price: £34.95 / Where to buy: You can buy directly from their website, or through selected retailers and local Dorset shops / Website: bh1gin.co.uk/
