I was so excited when I got asked if I wanted to try Chococo’s new Gold Chocolate Penguin from their Christmas range. I love Gold Bars and Caramac so I had high hopes for this and once it arrived I just couldn’t wait to get stuck into it.
If there is one thing that Chococo does very well and doesn’t involve chocolate, it’s their packaging. All packaging used is plastic free and recyclable. It came in a beautiful box and was very delicately wrapped inside to avoid breakage during postage. After all you don’t want such a beautiful product being damaged in the post and turning up in pieces do you?

The colour of the Penguin is beautiful. It’s golden with a very thin white drizzle style design on the stomach. It stands around 18cm tall and looks so elegant. To be fair I did not want to break.
The chocolate itself is Chococo’s white chocolate that has been caramelised. The colour is natural and created during the process of caramelisation. As soon as I took the Gold Penguin out of it’s box I could smell this amazing mix of chocolate and caramel. Once broken the penguin is hollow with a nice medium to thick thickness of chocolate. The taste is insane. It’s smooth, creamy and has that true retro caramel note. It tastes like a really good Gold Bar which has been dunked in a tub of Biscoff spread. Yes I am going to say it, it beats any golden chocolate I have tried!

This beautiful Penguins also come in Milk and Dark chocolate and can be brought in Chococo chocolate shops or online for £10 each.
