Pi Pizza Review

If you love Pizza then you’ll love this place! With the choice of 12” or 20” pizza’s and a number of toppings you really cannot go wrong!

Pi Pizza was founded by Rosie Whaley, who had a vision to bring authentic Italian Pizza and unique flavours together. I can tell you she has done that. Making its debut in Winchester, Pi then opened it’s doors in Poole in 2022 expanding it’s pizza revolution. There 20” pizza’s really steal the spotlight and until you see one you honestly will not understand how big these are! But don’t worry if they scare you too much they do offer 12” pizza’s and lots of small plates to perfectly complement them.

I visited this cute and atmospheric restaurant with a group of bloggers so all food reviewed below was done based on a sample menu and not what I would necessarily have ordered for myself.

Food & Drink

So let’s get down to the nitty gritty! Of course to start any meal out you need a drink and I chose the Annabella, a cocktail made with Mermaid Pink Gin, Prosecco, Elderflower & Strawberry. I’m a sucker for a gin cocktail as most of you will know and this was perfect. Maybe a bit on the pricey side for a cocktail but if you only go out now and again you have to treat yourself, right?

Annabella

As it was a sample menu on offer the food was just brought out to the tables so we could all try bits from each plate. Firstly, came out some small plates including; Burrata with Tomatoes & Pumpkin Seeds, Black Garlic & Red Onion Flatbread, Black Truffle Flatbread and a Charcuterie Board. Even though I really dislike Burrata I gave it a go, and out of all above this is the one thing I would recommend trying! My lesson here is if you hate something or dislike it, try it again a while later as your tastes buds change all the time.

Next came the Pizza’s. We were served two large 20” pizza’s each with 3 or 4 different pizzas on each. By this I mean around 2 or 3 slices were different pizzas, but all on one base. This idea is perfect if there is a group of you and you don’t know what to order or you want to try a few different pizzas from the menu. The pizza’s I tried were; Margherita, Spiced Lamb with Pickles & Greek Peppers, Aubergine with Garlic, Chilli & Parmesan and Ham Hock with Mushrooms, Artichoke & Red Onion. My favourite one’s were the Aubergine and the Spiced Lamb pizza’s both completely different to any other tops you’d find elsewhere. The pizzas are made freshly in the restaurant, are extremely light and topped with fresh produce.

I’d recommend giving this place a visit. It’s cute and atmospheric for a date night, perfect for sharing pizza with friends or just for a drink and sitting outside on a nice summers evening on the Quay.
