Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin

Wrecking Coast Clotted Cream Gin is produced by The Wrecking Coast Distillery. This gin is their flagship gin and was first distilled under a bakery in Tintagel. Sadly, they no longer reside in Tintagel, but it makes for the perfect setting to the creation of such a great gin.

One of Cornwall’s largest and most popular exports, clotted cream is added into a cold distillation process alongside their other 12 botanicals. On their website they state that the intention was not for the gin to be flavoured, but to amplify the botanicals. However, I disagree.

There is probably one main reason why I love this gin and that is for its botanicals. I’m one of those people who is drawn to gins with certain botanicals in and this is no exception. On the palate this gin is smooth, creamy, and packed full of Vanilla, Coriander and Cinnamon. It’s a perfect tipple to sip on over ice or have as a classic Gin & Tonic. If you are feeling a bit fruity though I like adding in some fresh strawberries and a small drop (I mean small) of vanilla syrup and imagine I’m having a cream tea without the hassle.
