Now most of you will know my love for an Afternoon Tea, and when a dear friend of mine gave me a Christmas present last year to go to Aunt Fannies for one I was over the moon! Yes, I know I just put Christmas present last year, but sadly this has been the soonest we have been able to get together to do such a wonderful thing.
I just love the atmosphere and the vintage vibes of Aunt Fannies. We sat in the inside room on this visit, and it was so warm and cosy. We even had the luxury of a pianist playing for us while sipped and munched away. To be fair we were extremely lucky to get a seat as we went on a Sunday and they were fully booked for their Roast Dinners.
They offer two Afternoon tea options. Plenty of Fun & Hike Together and the best thing, you don’t need to book you can just turn up on the day.
Hike Together
So these get down to the nitty gritty. Vicki and I opted for the Hike Together. It comes served with a round of sandwiches, homemade scone with all extras and a selection of bite-sized tray bakes.

The best part to this for me is that you can choose which sandwiches you wish to have, which are made fresh to order. I’m extremely fussy with Afternoon tea sandwiches and normally I’ll only eat one or two of the selection, so this made it perfect! You also get to choose which of their homemade scones you would like. We went with both, so we could have half of each one. One thing I will say is these guys are extremely generous on the clotted cream that we still have some left over. I’m used to having to scrap the bottom of the pot to get what I want to put on my Scones.
I honestly could not fit another thing in my stomach after devouring the Sandwiches, Scone and the Jammie Biscuit. Therefore, the cake came home with me. No waste here!
Honestly this was the best Afternoon Tea for value, atmosphere and freshly baked goods. Perfect for a gift, a special treat or just on a whim.
