It was a pleasure to meet Rob the owner of The Chunky Chutney, who was very happy to let learn about how his business came about. A very modest man who is doing something he generally loves.
The Chunky chutney are a small home run company based in Poole. It’s a one-man band helped by his loving and caring family of his wife and two daughters. This is what I love about this company, how everyone within a household can come together to create such a fantastic product. Rob has worked both in Australia and in the UK within the catering industry and carries on to do so.
With a fantastic range of 50 different flavours to choose from I’ve decided to test run 4 of these and let you see how versatile a chutney can be. I believe that a chutney is no longer just for cheese or a ploughman’s, but can be used in any dish either as a condiment or as part of the dish itself. The four that I will be trying and experimenting with over the next few weeks are Sticky Red Onion Marmalade, Mango, Apple and Jalapeno Chutney, Spiced Tikka Tomato Chutney and the award winning Tomato Fig and Red Pepper Chutney.
