Meet Dorset Ginger

One of the things I love most about looking back through old Gin & Coast posts is remembering the amazing people I’ve met along the way.

Dorset Ginger was one of the very first local businesses I connected with, and they’ve had a special place on the blog ever since.

Based in the lovely village of Lytchett Matravers, just outside Poole, Dorset Ginger has been creating delicious ginger drinks using recipes passed down through the generations. What started with a handful of drinks has grown over the years, but one thing has always stayed the same – they’re passionate about creating great-tasting drinks and proudly flying the flag for Dorset.

When I first reached out to local businesses on Instagram back in 2018, I wasn’t sure anyone would even reply. Thankfully, Nick did.

He invited me over to meet himself, showed me around the factory and talked me through how everything worked. More importantly, he took the time to chat about blogging, local businesses and offered advice that really helped me when Gin & Coast was still in its infancy.

Looking back, that kindness has always stuck with me.

Fast forward to today and I still love catching up with Nick and Timi whenever I see them at Dorset’s foodie events throughout the year. If you’ve ever wandered around one of the local food festivals, there’s a good chance you’ll have spotted them – and there’s an equally good chance I’ll be over at the stand saying hello and seeing what’s new!
