This has a beautiful refreshing taste. It’s a lovely drink for the hot summer days like we have recently had. It is made from Sicilian lemons shipped over from Sicily, making it taste even better. Knowing that Dorset ginger take pride in giving their products names and making sure that they use products as the name states really inspires me.
I used Dorset Ginger’s recipe card for Mocktails to make their lavender lemonade, however being a gin drinker and fancying a summer tipple on a Saturday night I decided to make it into a cocktail.
Lavender Gin Lemonade
This cocktail is excellent for the summer months. Light and refreshing and the subtle lavender notes from the gin compliment the lemon perfectly. If you’d refer an non alcoholic version I have added the recipe below this one.
- 50ml of Pothecary Original Gin
- 250ml Dorset Ginger Sicilian Lemonade
- 1tbsp of warmed honey
- Handful of Ice cubes
Place the 1tbsp of honey in the microwave for a few seconds just to make it nice and running and easy to stir in. Place a handful of ice cubes into a gin glass of choice. (I personally used a balloon gin for this recipe). Place in the gin followed by the honey and then top with the Sicilian lemonade. Stir to mix the ingredients together and enjoy! If you have any fresh lavender in your garden garnish with a sprig or two.
