Homemade Ginger Beer Recipe with Dorset Ginger

I’ve always loved ginger drinks, especially as a mixer, but sometimes they can be a little overpowering. You know the ones…they leave that fiery burn at the back of your throat and completely take over the drink.

That’s one of the reasons I’ve always enjoyed Dorset Ginger’s Strong Ginger. Yes, it’s full of flavour and has a lovely warming kick, but it’s much smoother than many ginger drinks I’ve tried.

When I first met Nick from Dorset Ginger, he shared this simple recipe with me, and it’s been one of my go-to mixers ever since. I’ve even managed to convert a couple of friends who swore they didn’t like ginger beer!

If you’d like to know more about the people behind Dorset Ginger, have a read of my Dorset Ginger feature, where I share how we first met and why they’re still one of my favourite Dorset producers.

  • 1 part Dorset Ginger Strong Ginger
  • 1 part fizzy lemonade
  • Plenty of ice
  • Fill your favourite glass with ice, pour in equal parts Dorset Ginger Strong Ginger and fizzy lemonade, give it a gentle stir and enjoy.

If you’re new to ginger, simply add a little more lemonade until you find the perfect balance. That’s the beauty of this recipe—it’s easy to make it your own. Simple, refreshing and perfect on a warm day.
