Yesterday I headed back to London to treat my friend to a belated birthday present.
We spent the day wondering and exploring London before I walked her around the cobbled streets of Covent Garden. She had no idea where I was taking her which adds to the excitment.
Walking down Russell Street we passed 42nd Street and carried on to a small theatre on the left. The Fortune Threatre where many a Georgian and Victorian actors had once visited when it was a local Tavern, a old fashioned eerie theatre perfect for the Women in Black.
For 30 years this production has driven people in. I think it’s the not knowing what to expect that has done that. With only two actors on stage and a number of different charaters to play both Richard Hope and Mark Hawkins made it seamless. Jumpy, funny and eerie. Just completely fantastic!!! To be able to bring such a story to life on a small stage is fantastic. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so I won’t write anymore.
