A cosy Dorset pub, good food and the perfect stop after exploring Corfe Castle.

Who else is a sucker for a good pub stop after a walk in the countryside or along the coast? I definitely am! So when I was invited along to The Greyhound Inn in Corfe Village, I made sure to tie it in with a trip around Corfe Castle too.
We were seated inside for our visit, but there’s also a good-sized outdoor seating area, and the pub is dog friendly. Always a bonus after a day out exploring.
If you’ve visited Corfe Castle, there’s also 10% off your food bill when you show your castle tickets, which is a pretty good excuse to pop in afterwards.
For any fellow gin drinkers, there’s even London Essence on tap. Of course, I only spotted this just before we were leaving! There’s also a good selection of your usual pub favourites, including a nice cold pint — just what you want after a long walk.
Now for the Food!
The team were helpful with the menu and happy to accommodate changes where they could, which is always appreciated.
- Mussels in Cider – The sauce was just right — not too creamy and not too boozy — with some lovely chunky chorizo. The mussels seemed to keep appearing when I thought I’d finished, which is always a treat! Add some bread and chips for mopping up that sauce and you’re onto a winner.
- Moving Mountains Burger – With sweet potato fries on the side, this was my idea of heaven. It comes with vegan cheese, but as we’re not fans, they were happy to swap it for normal cheddar.
- Sticky Toffee Pudding – A hot individual sponge, chocolate flake and lovely vanilla ice cream. This went down a little too easily!
- Cinnamon Churros – The waiter’s recommendation and definitely one worth listening to! Crispy ribbons of doughnut with ice cream and Nutella for dipping. You’d be crazy to say no.
The Greyhound Inn is cosy, welcoming and serves some seriously good pub food. If you’re exploring Corfe Castle or heading out for a Dorset walk, it makes a lovely place to stop for food and a drink. I know I’ll be back!
